Company Description
TeamLMI, an organizational development firm providing Retained Search and Recruitment Placement Outsourcing Solutions, is assisting a successful restaurant group in hiring a Human Resources (HR) Manager based in Las Vegas or California. This position will be responsible for ensuring compliance of federal, state and local employment laws and regulations as well as implementing HR policies and procedures and administering the company’s HR programs. The HR Manager will also lead employee engagement efforts to enhance our corporate culture.
The company offers a competitive compensation and benefits package which includes medical insurance and 401k. This position offers the opportunity for a hybrid remote work environment after an initial onboarding period.
Responsibilities
- Ensure and maintain compliance with federal, state and local employment laws and regulations including Fair Labor Standards Act and recommended best practices and review policies and practices to maintain compliance
- Develop and facilitate appropriate orientation and on-boarding programs for new employees and assist with offboarding process
- Assist in the development and implementation of company HR policies and procedures
- Coordinate training and verify health and food-related certifications
- Support managers with hiring process
- Perform and oversee insurance benefits and retirement benefits administration
- Meet with and advise executive team and management regarding organizational and employment issues
- Generate reports for use by accounting, managers and executives, including benefits costs and overtime
- Be the primary contact to manage and resolve complex employee relations issues and grievances
- Process payroll and benefits administration and ensure compliance with laws and regulations in CA, NV and additional states where applicable
- Attend and participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations
- Record all work-related injuries and illnesses and reports all workers' compensation cases to insurer
- Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes and new technologies in human resources, talent management and employment law
- Conduct or acquire background checks and employee eligibility verifications
- Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or related field is required
- Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in Human Resources is required; experience in the Hospitality industry is preferred and casino experience is a plus
- Strong knowledge and understanding of Nevada and California employment laws and regulations
- PHR and/or SHRM-CP certification is a plus
- Complete understanding of HR administration, including onboarding and benefits
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) is required
- Technical competence in the use of HR related systems and other business software programs is preferred
- Ability to communicate and build culture with employees
- Ability to develop and implement policies and procedures
- Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines and delegate effectively
- Strong problem solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Strong work ethic with high personal standards for quality of work
- Organized, team player who is considerate and able to work well with others
- Possess a high degree of creativity
- Excellent time management abilities
- Valid Driver’ license with reliable transportation and clean driving record
- Flexibility for occasional travel
- Fluency in both English and Spanish is a plus
